Why this celebration?

International Chefs Day has become one of the most important days for Chefs all over the world since 2004. The main objective of establishing this day was to create widespread awareness for the profession and for the using the day to give back to society through charitable events, culinary competitions and demonstrations.

It is therefore a pleasure for us at IFCA to announce that the World Association of Chefs Board has made the decision to focus on “Healthy Kids, Healthy Future” this year at our International Chefs Day on the 20th of October 2015. This is a great opportunity for any chef around the world, in small or big business, to take part in this campaign to support chefs fraternity and work. Do not hesitate to work on this all year round as this is an ongoing effort that can help you and your craft to grow for the future.

IFCA Presidium takes immense pride in announcing and inviting you to participate in the INTERNATIONAL CHEF’S DAY 2015 celebrations. And you can get an award if you could manage to put up a grand celebration this year.

As you all know INTERNATIONAL CHEFS DAY is celebrated on 20th of October every year. The Theme for International Chefs Day this year is HEALTHY KIDS, HEALTHY FUTURE.

International Chefs Day is celebrated to create widespread awareness about Chefs Profession and to instill a sense of pride to chefs and aspiring chefs. The day also provides an opportunity for chefs to give back to the society by contributing to a noble cause.

To celebrate this day, we are calling all chefs to engage with a local school, nursery school or kindergarten in your community and to have fun with young children, between 4-8 years old, while teaching them about healthy eating, in line with the above theme given by WACS.

This is a great opportunity for chefs to make a difference in a young person’s life and ensure they eat right and teach others to eat right.

How you can participate?

You can choose from a range of options to educate young minds on healthy eating by either visiting a play school, nursery school or a school and teaching the children about healthy eating choices or you can also prepare some food or share a meal with them. Present a chef hat with kid’s name or carry out any activity that will have reinforcing memories about healthy eating habits in the young minds in the age group 4 to 8 years.

You may also conduct charity events / charity dinners for the benefit of the underprivileged.

When can you celebrate?

Any day between 17th October and 22nd October 2015 (both days inclusive).
